Well, yeah, that's why I'm saying ditch the narrative. I don't think they can reboot the characters.

They should. None of the characters are interesting in the slightest.

...would you hit me if I said Leon is among my favorite video game characters?

they now say this after RE6? What about before making RE6 what were they thinking then?

They said "Resident Evil isn't survival horror anymore."

No. Really.

No, but I'd be confused when out of entire generations of gaming you choose one of the lamest and vaguest characters out there.

Give me the RE4 "Hooked Man" version.

But that's too *ahem* Silent Hill ish or whatever bullsate it was initially claimed as.

Seriously, that would be great to see. The RE4 that should have been.

That is an RE reboot I can get behind.

Probably my super strong love for RE4. I can't explain it, just like the guy.

I agree. He's got personality that's developed over the years, but it's never capitalized on. He's not interested in being a badass, really isn't gung-ho about fighting anyone, has had to develop a knack for cracking a joke at the right time, and probably has a metric butt-ton of game.

Sorry, but as much as I enjoy the old games, I don't think pre-rendered background, crappy camera angles, slow-moving zombies, horrendous save system, fetch puzzles, and tedious backtracking would work in this age. The series was started to get complaints about growing stale in Code Veronica and Zero was the last straw so that's why RE4 got rebooted (gameplay-wise). Where did this "true" RE nonsense come from? RE has always been about B.OW.s and that hasn't changed with the new games. I do agree that more survivor horror elements need to be added, but it should stay being action-packed (please get rid of the damn Q.T.Es Capcom).

Resedint Evil going "back to its roots" is literally the only thing that can have any chance of saving the franchise.

Franchise really doesn't need saving. 6 sold really well.

Unless you mean rescuing from mediocrity, in which case I agree.

Indeed. RE6 surpassed all RE games in terms of sales, but that's all, in my opinion.

Thanks for the article. A return to its roots would be a good idea at this point after the RE5/6 debacles... I'm deeply saddened as a lonnnnng time fan at where the series went.

Please, no more punching boulders crap.
