The PS3 didn't kill the PS2 immediately, so why would the PS4 kill the PS3?

Killing the PS3? how do you figure that? Sony plans to release Sly 4, Puppeteer, and The Last of Us this year. They're still working on The Last Guardian too . . . and that's ignoring third parties.

I'd hardly call that "killing" the system.

Sony has said on multiple occasions that they plan to support the PS3 even after the next gen system has released.

Nintendo won't be losing money for long, with new main Pokemon games coming out this year. The Wii U isn't doing them any favors at the moment, but the worst that can do is GameCube-level sales, I'd think.

Microsoft will have to work hard just like always, just like Nintendo and Sony will. Why would anyone want it any other way?

I'm quite a lover of Microsoft but the sad truth is all three makers are going to be hurting this upcoming gen until they figure out that $60 games are not going to sustain them.
