Can you play 3-D games and movies on the XBox360?

Active is definitely better then passive, active has two full 1080p images, passive splits one 1080p image into two, effectively lowering the resolution to each eye. There are other benefits but that is the most prevalent.

And there are a few 3D games, you can usually activate the 3D settings under the options menu. Batman Arkham City is probably the most impressive, Crysis 2 was really solid, the COD and GOW look good but I prefer the 2D in those games, mostly from how the reticule is positioned when playing in 3D, harder to aim. The reticule in Crysis almost acts like a laser sight, it actually makes the game easier in 3D, I found anyway.

Can you order 3D DVD's or Blu Ray disc from Netflix? Not sure.
I don't recall ever receiving an option to do so.

Xbox 360 can display certain games in 3D
batman
blacktops
not sure of any others. It really depends on the developer.

Even if the game does not have 3D capabilities. Some TV's can convert 2D to 3D.

I sometimes use mine to play Super Marios Bros U in 3D.

I'm surprised your TV didn't come with glasses. Mine came with 8 pair.

Edit: in regards to netflix - Yes there are. But they are limited and only available to specific Internet providers.

Quote:Sounds like you have an active 3D TV which is why the glasses are so expensive. You should be able to find a universal pair for $50 bucks. I have a passive 3D TV. I'm able to use the same type of 3D glasses utilized in the theaters. 8-12 bucks each for glasses. Great for watching 3D Blu Ray's but not too good for gaming unless its a slow paced game. Anything with a lot of constant action and it gets pretty laggy even if you are not playing online.

Active is better than Passive, especially when it comes to gaming.

@starksthegamer2
Depends on your tv with regard to the lag. My LG makes competitive gaming impossible thanks to the lag with 3D on. However, my crappy little Sony 3D tv they put out for the PS3 does it without any noticeable lag.

So, the Best Buy employee lied to me, huh?

Yes.
Now and always. About everything. Ever.

Especially when they tell people they need that $200 HDMI cable, and that a $2 cable absolutely, positively, without exception will not work, period.

I've been watching tons of 3D movies on Netflix, it's pretty new but there is an entire 3D library on Netflix now and it's growing pretty quickly.

They show up on my TV, as well. Not just on the PS3 app.
