As in i don't remember being able to stop a vehicle with a plasma shot that stuns it for a few seconds. Were there any ealier Halo games that used this besides Halo 4?

I think it might have been Halo 2.
Halo 3 certainly did, I'm sure of it. They needed to add something because otherwise vehicles were pretty unstoppable.

Hmm. ok i guess i have never seen it used in halo 2 or halo 3 before and i play alot. I see the plasma pistol hit my vehicle but it just brings the shields down, not make the vehicle stop.

Was it not used a whole lot in the other games then? Because in Halo 4 everyone is using it.

In Reach they had the Sniper Rifle be the weapon that tore vehicles apart.

I'm both glad and not glad they changed that. In a way it was kind of a good thing...but it also made no goddamn sense.

i think you are seeing it more now TC because you can start the match with the weapon already....IIRC in the other halo games you couldnt start with a plasma pistol as your secondary

What that link doesn't tell you is that a medium to high power .30 caliber rifle (.308 Winchester, .30-06, and .338 Lapua Magnum) can do some of the same things, especially going through brick and cinder blocks, and going through car engine blocks, and that's with standard soft core ammo, change it to hardened AP rounds and it goes clean through the engine block and out the other side again, nice clean hole.

The true advantage of the .50 is that it can still do that more than 1000 yards away.
