I usually do. I don't like it when some games don't have the option to enable them.

Thankfully, series like Halo or MGS always include subtitles.

I hate subtitles it takes away from the story for me, I become to fixated on the words scrolling that I don't watch what's happening.

Depends. On games like Assassin's Creed 2, I had them enabled so I could find out what they said in Italian. Or I just keep them on when my hearing isn't as good. ( I can barely hear my music on full volume on my Ipod.)

Since English is not my main language, I sometimes have problems understanding whats being said if its being said too fast or too soft (like a whisper) so having them on helps greatly.

I talk to people, listen to music, faff around during games. If I didn't have subtitles I wouldn't have a clue what was happening.
