Next gen will be like the 2nd coming of the 16-bit generation.

Ignore all the rumors of next gen no used games or blah blah whatever.
Stop worrying about console power.

Let it be known that Xbox 720, Wii U and ps4 will be fantastic systems.
This next gen will be magical. No matter the console.

Something is seriously wrong. I agree with knightimex. How did this happen?

That was this gen to me. For me this gen was like a throwback to the 16-bit glory days.

Day-1 DLC, Disc Locked DLC, online passes, and other assorted shady business practices remind you of gaming's innocence?

Alright.

This generation, excluding crappy reliability, has been the best generation for me; surpassing every gen I've experienced since the Tandy. It's been better than the 16-bit, the 32-bit, and the Commodore 64 era.

DLC kinda ruined gaming for me. Having to play to unlock characters or different colors or armor, skins ect just ruined the experience.

Same for me. Previously, the SNES was my favorite console, but the 360 has taken that spot. The sheer amount of great games worth playing and variation of genres really pushed it over the top.

From the consoles I owned:
360 > SNES > Gamecube > Wii > N64 > NES

the 32-bit

Um did I miss a generation of gaming or something? I don't recall a 32 bit era.

God, I hope so. I still own, play, and love my SNES and Genesis.

There was a lot of great games this gen, don't get me wrong but this gen is probably one of my least favorites. A lot of originality was lost this gen, genre's dying off and most of off we seen the shift of having a video game console into being a multimedia system.
