People upset by the news today, would you feel better if...

you couldn't play used 'hard copies' of Xbox games but they featured an online store that was actually good and featured sales and deals like Steam on PC?

Hence you would be buying games at used prices but they would just be digital downloads that you had forever even if Microsoft disbanded one day.

*Note, I have around 60-70 games on Steam and as someone that once thought I needed a disc of every game, I seriously wouldn't even think about anything but getting a game digitally now, it's far superior IMO so having an open mind never hurts*

It's not news. It's a rumor. It's news when Microsoft releases the specifications publicly.

I like hard copies, I will most likely just rock back and forth muttering to myself if they do this.

Can you at least answer the question I asked? Or read 3 sentences?

You don't 'have' 60-70 games. You have 60-70 licenses. You're paying for glorified rentals. The only reason Steam works is because of all the super crazy sales.

Steam works because it does what it's supposed to do and does it better than any game distributor on the planet. You can make the argument that 'you don't really own digital media' but honestly with the way the industry is going, how is it any different than buying the disc from a AAA developer where you have to put an activation code in and you can't play it on any other Xbox's without getting another code.

With Steam I can log in to any computer I want and start downloading my games on that Hard Drive. Also, getting everything from Valve which is the most trustworthy gaming company there is, does give a greater sense of security and ease.

I'm not saying it has no faults, bu the close mindedness that some people show really shows how far apart the gaming community really is still.

No. I like hard copies of games. The only games I actually "own" on Steam are ones that don't even have hard copy versions anyway.

Only buy digital copies of games if that's the only way to get that game.
