5 Best Gaming Consoles in History

#11zen_miseryPosted 2/6/2013 9:54:44 PM
If you are making any list about BEST gaming consoles in HISTORY you have to list the NES.

After the gaming crash in the 80's Nintendo took that risk, released the NES and brought back consumer confidence to gaming. It remade the entire industry.

This list doesnt even have an ATARI system, which for many was the first console.

The original Playstation needs a spot because it showed that gaming can be catered to a mature audience and have adult themes.

The last two spots can be fought over.

that top 5 list/link was horrible. I enjoyed the N64, but #1 game system of all time? Hell no not even in the top 10. It was fun, but very few must own games., The gameboy is not a console, let alone a must own I hated owning one, reunined me on handhelds.

My List:
5. Xbox 360/ PS3 its a tie, i like them equally
4. Dreamcast
3. Sega Genesis/CD
2. PS2
1. SNES
---
XBOX- Brutal Brocken
PS3- BrutalBrocken

Horrendous list. inb4 opinions

Dreamcast doesn't deserve to be there. It did so little. Neither does Gameboy or N64.

Rough list of what I consider the best consoles. In no specific order:

1. SNES
2. Mega Drive (Genesis)
3. PS1
4. PS2
5. PS3 (not 360 because PS3 has a better exclusive library)

what the f are u taalking about

the dreamcast was the first one to have internet for the console meaning first to play other people around the world not ps2 or xbox. the memory cards had a screen built in so u can play games on them and thats how the wii u is now but its the controller not the memory card. xbox and the 360 borrowed graphics and the controller buttons and the trigger buttons from the dream cast.

It was present for a short time and didn't have that many games. It doesn't deserve a spot.

N64
SNES
PS1
Atari 2600

Hard to choose between Atari 2600 and NES. Atari 2600 ports were horriable, games were more like a hint of what the game was supposed to be and used imagination... but damn it was fun and really solidified what it was to be a gamer.
