Who prefer DirectX9 Graphics w/ 60 FPS rather than DirectX11 w/ sloppy 30 FPS??

#1X-SkyBlazePosted 2/7/2013 12:00:33 AM
Myself, prefers DX9 w/ 60 FPS with smooth gameplay. Microsoft should know that X360 isn't a monstrous PC that can handle nice graphic with smooth gameplay.

see:
Armored Core 4 & 4A. decent quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
Star Ocean The Last Hope. decent quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
Darksiders. decent quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
Devil May Cry 4. good quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
Ninja Gaiden 2. good quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
Far Cry 2. good quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
CoD series that use DX9. decent quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.
RAGE. decent quality graphics, 60 FPS smooth.

you can mention other DX9 games that i forgot.

Eww, no. I'll take the second option, thanks. 30fps is plenty.

both of you do know that good gameplay always beat good graphics right...??

Gameplay is just one tool, alongside story, graphics, and even audio, to build an experience. I want an experience that meets certain basic demands, I don't care about the tools that much. They just need to do their job. Plus, I think 30fps is plenty for gameplay purposes. The benefit of smoother framerates is less, to me, than the visual benefits of everything else you could be using that power towards.

it happens that my friend agree with all of you, but he mentioned 1 thing: INCONSISTENT framerates. i do find so many 2011-2013 games have 30 fps, but with inconsistent framerates.

constant 30 fps is good like you said, i find it still entertainng in some action games. but like i said before, there are so many games now that have inconsistent framerates (because they weren't optimized enough for console version).

if MS/Sony want my money, i hope ps4 & nextbox provide supreme capabilities so games can utilize very good graphics with smooth constant framerates :)

I can agree that inconsistent framerates are awful. I was playing MGS4 and its FPS often increases at times and it feels so weird. And it isn't necessarily MS or Sony's fault.

I know the feeling.

All I ask is for consistency. I can live with 20fps (A crappy PC will do that to you), just keep it 20fps.
