I definitely disagree with anyone that thinks FFX was a good game.

Go ahead, try it. Laugh with me.

HA. HA. HA. HA. HA.

HA. HA. HA. HA. HA!

You probably shouldn't laugh any more.

Winternova has the best list in this topic, IMO. WRPGs have been incredible this past 10 years....definitely one of my favorite genres.

Including Witcher 2 and Jade Empire means you're the winner in my book. Haha. I loved those two. Quality, well told stories, fantastic combat, great environments....and both briskly paced without tons of filler...but still fairly large. Just fantastic RPGs IMO.

Edit: Also listed my other two favorites...ME2 and KOTOR. Good list Winter

Skyrim was a bad rpg though. Before the hoards of people who don't understand what makes a good rpg try to say how i am wrong and MUH DRAGONS, it had a poor story, what little choices you could make didn't matter at all, very linear, boring repetitive side quests and the game world in general was dull and repetitive. Bandit camp, cave, draugr tomb, forsworn camp repeat.
Id honestly place Oblivion higher than skyrim.
One of the most important things about RPGs is the story, choices and gameplay. Skyrim failed on all of these.

They're just the closest to my favorite games of my youth: Wizardry, Ultima, Bard's Tale, Wasteland, SSI D&D Gold Box games. To me, they're the heirs of the original RPGs and I hope that style of game never disappears from the face of the planet.

I know it's a turn-based strategy game, but XCom deserves an honorable mention.

Since this topic is going places, I will make a list. In no order:

FFXII
SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1&2
KOTOR 1&2
The Witcher 2
Dragon Age Origins
Persona 3
Lost Odyssey
Mass Effect 2&3
Fallout NV
Vampire: The Masquerade

Yep, I like WRPGs AND JRPGs. Because I'm an adult who is capable of living outside of labels.

I do. I listed the games and their release dates that weren't released in the last ten years.

Last I checked, ten years was ten years, not twelve years.

Technically FFX came out in the early 2000s, I think 01, so it can't really count as "last 10 years" since 03 and up would be that. Great game though, I still pop it in and play some blitzball occasionally.

lol the people dissing FFX probably liked Skyrim, which was just as horrible.

I find it quite funny that this is supposed to be an insult.

An observation really, don't care what the 360 board thinks. If I wanted to troll, I'd goto the Vita or Wii U boards.
