I think people are terrified that new game prices will be ridiculous and stay high price years after release, but I think it would end up being a good thing. At the end of the day those companies still have to earn your money. They know if they don't give you some incentive to buy game "X" that you probably won't. I agree with you. I think it is a good thing, and that is why I'm so shocked. Basically, all we are doing is cutting out the middle man and that's what this generation has been all about. Those savings will either go towards profits, making a lot of games more likely, or they will be passed on directly to the consumers as cheaper starting prices.
