If you are to believe that the plaintiff has the ability to pay such a thing. One thing to realize is the system is so messed up that even if you are 100% in the right, you are forced to settle due to the large legal fees that can accumulate over years of litigation.

That's what I count on - large legal fees. :-)

I collect mostly ps2, ps1, and retro games. If they stop letting people play used games, the gaming industry will see less profit b/c people want to make sure that game is good. What if that company produce something crappy and you bought it, you are then stuck with it. I bought some crappy games in the past and it's not worth trading it in to GameStop. I almost trade my SNES collection to them and find that it's worth crap. Now my SNES collections have some rare games and it's worth alot more than today's games b/c it's hard to find and in few production. I have Ninja Gaiden Triology for SNES and it's worth about $150. I bought it for $10 in Blockbuster.

People say there will be less DLC. It could happen but they can also pull a Capcom. Look at how Capcom does with SF4 and MvC3. They just put another name to it. I bought the 1st SF4 and thought it's the final but 3-4 months later, they pull something else and I trade it off for that one. 3-4 months later, they put another one in. I feel like a fool. Some games like COD and sport games just put up a # and or words to make it special which are overrated. So if the new console only allow digital distributions, how would you show it off to your neighbor and friends. I guess you have to unplug and take the whole system w/ you. what if that system fail, all the digital downloads are gone and you have to buy a new system. Not all systems will last forever.

Many people have bills to pay. Gaming is a hobby and entertainment. Some people can't pay the full price like kids and barely struggling family but they can pull a few new games. If you have $60, would you buy 1 game new or 3 used games which might last you longer. That new game can be crappy. For that 3 used games, some people beat it and trade it off. Also, there might be some good reviews about them from ordinary people instead of gaming analyst or gaming rater.

I might not buy the new console if they would stop used games. I would just play my old retro games. I buy about 80% used games and the rest new games. There are some games that didn't produce much worldwide and highly sought after.

Also, there will always be a blackmarket, piracy, and emulations. There will always be shadow no matter what they do. Sony, M$, Nintendo and others have to innovate and make uniqueness so people will support them. In my view, Sony will probably not pull this stunt b/c they have an awesome libraries. M$, I don't know. M$ is about money. I already pay for internet already and yet they still want me to pay their internet services as well. Paying twice is not my ideal choice. I heard MS internet was down. It's almost the same with sony. Nintendo have a great library too but they aren't backward compatible.

Yet, 95% of the people who voted the first 3 options will buy a new system anyway.

Its probably been mentioned already, but I doubt the majority of people on GFAQs buy newer games, like Halo 4, used. I imagine that they do, however, buy older games used, like Dark Sector and Kameo. Not necessarily because they're too cheap to buy new copies, but because new copies of old games are harder to come by than used copies.

Having said that, should a gamer be punished for buying games that are older than 2 or 3 years simply because the game they're interested in is no longer in print? Also, how would a console be able to tell the difference between a used game and a game that you're borrowing from a friend?

I like how the GameFAQs spellcheck shows that the word "Wii" is fine, but the words "Xbox" and "Kinect" show up as typos.

Sorry if this has already been said before but, I will restate it anyways!

It's not about the newest game to hit the shelves! It's those dated games that are 3,4,5, hell even 8-10 years old that I'm mad about. I am always picking up bargain bin games for 4 or 5 bucks from gamestop. It's a great way to find hidden gems.

Cost of ten new games with tax: $650.10

Average cost of ten used games I buy online: $150

Average revenue of ten used games I sell online: $100

So I spend about $50 per every 10 games, as opposed to $650.

If I cannot play or sell used games on new systems, I'll probably just catch up on older games or wait until newer ones are on sale. I can't justify increasing my video game spending by hundreds of dollars.

Citing things like Far Cry 3 new = $40, Far Cry used = $37 isnt accurate. It's the older games like Almost any two year old game new = $20 and Tons of two year old used games = $5-$10. That means we can only afford half the games. It would just plain suck.

I'll be fine with them instituting the no used games policy if the people against it promise they won't buy the system and promise to shut up about it when people are discussing the system. I'd buy the console just for the intelligent conversation with other users; it would weed out the morons.

I like to buy used games because I like to save money. But that's not too big of a deal for me.

What does bug me about this though, is that my friend and I borrow each others games quite often. Most times we'll both buy a game at the same time. And once we're done with the games, we'll just trade games for a while. So we save quite a bit of money by doing that.
