I buy mostly used and never from gamestop. I save on average $40 per game, and obviously wont support a console that blocks used game purchases.

The majority of the games that I own have become hard to find sooner or later. Because of that I either had to get lucky to find those games new somewhere or I had to find them used.
If a system blocks used games what will happen to those games?
How will I be able to play a Dead Space Ultra Edition, Mass Effect Limited Edition, Tales of Vesperia Special Edition or Record of Agarest Limited Edition if I can't find them new?

Please excuse me for my poor English.
Thank you.

So, let me get this straight... We're supposed to be happy that we can only play New games? Tell me, what the hell happens if you can't find a game new? Oh, that's right, you gotta buy it used. But, wait! MS and Sony dno't let you play used games, and it's an MS or Sony game! Looks like you're not gonna play that game!

But wait, I forgot, everybody can find new games of every single game ever created.

I'm surprised that after this much debate among gamers (including this thread and others) about the possible blocking of used games, that there are still people out there solely fixated on "price" being the only reason people would be against blocking used games.

I hope this is a troll topic. If not, the people who say blocking used games is good are plain stupid.

You realize that a "used game" is also a game that you want to take over your friends house and play..? Nope. Can't do that. Blocking out used games would make it one game per console, which would absolutely suck. If you honestly don't have friends, and never borrowed a game before then you are in the very, very tiny minority.

I never sell my games to gamestop, rather I sell them to a friend or hell even give them away if I never play them.

I am a gamer that started playing on the Atari system. I have traded and shared many console titles. These activities helped grow my enjoyment of the games and brands.

What I ask now to you, "Have you ever bought a game new after you borrowed/rented it?"

I can say yes I have. I first played Chrono Trigger on the SNES, bought it on the PS. I played Final Fantasy on the NES and bought it again many years later on the GB. I might have never bought most of the Suikoden series if I had never played the first Suikoden that a friend owned.

One big problem with locking a console game to one system is the fact that you cannot share the game with friends. Sharing helped grow the player base that the entire industry now enjoys.

As for many games that require online connection to play at all times, there are many people that don't live in cities. They have limited internet access or possibly none at all. It hurts the gaming market when those that want to play a game can't.

I play lots of games. About 90% of them are played in my head.

Alright, I didn't read every post because most of it is the same over and over again. I have some points to address. People that collect games for old systems, why? You don't collect boxes of checkers do you? The console had its time, and now its time is over. Move along.

How dare people like old games?! Those silly mother****ers! Don't people realize that since we have so many GREAT games like CoD, we're not allowed to like or play games like Super Metroid, FFVII, Goldeneye, or Tales of the Abyss!? Bad gamers! Bad! You must play all these GREAT games that are out for this gen, and don't ven think about turning on your PS2 or SNES! That's so wrong and immoral!!

Seriously, kid, go **** yourself

Sometimes you miss out on a game when its in stores. Whether it's lack of funds, not having the system it's for yet, or just wanting another game that's out more. When that happens, you usually have to turn to used games. There are a few games I never could have enjoyed if not for the used market.

I also like being able to bring a good game over to a friend's house. If they locked a game with a single console, I couldn't do that. That's just awful and bad business. Maybe my friend would like that game and buy it for himself, but if he never gets a chance to try it, he won't bother.
