dudultimateness posted... I just got done voting in the poll and normally I vote with the majority but when I voted that I wouldn't care at all I was shocked to see there were only 3% of you out there like me. I can't quite catch onto why so many people out there are so obsessed with used games. Is the $10 Gamestop gives you off the next used C.O.D really that big of a deal? I don't buy used games, but if they did block used games, I sure as s*** would buy less games. The problem is that if used games are blocked, I can no longer sell a game if it sucks to get some of the money I spent back. I don't mind it on Steam because I just buy everything I'm iffy about when it's on sale, so if it sucks, who cares, it was only a fiver. But since MS or Sony would be sure to keep the $60 price point (or even go to $70 if they can get away with it), I'd only be buying games I'm very certain I'd enjoy, and everything else I would skip until I can get it extremely cheap. And no, I don't go get ripped off by GameStop, I sell my games myself online and get way more money for them that way. --- "Jak and Daxter does not have a sequel so that doesn't prove anything." - DesperateMonkey
First sale doctrine. What i purchase belongs to me thereafter and i have the right as original purchaser to re-sell what i bought later if i so choose to. What's the big deal if i can't buy used games? Well, if i can't buy used games, this also means i can't sell the games i buy (as no one else can buy them from me). And if i am not free to re-sell that which i originally bought, then first sale doctrine has been broken. Publishers and console makers are within their rights to sell games and devices. They are not within their rights to restrict further sales of the same game or device after it has been originally purchased. Doing so restricts my rights as consumer. It's as simple as that.

JTC87 posted... Last but not least, people saying they can't afford to buy new, gaming is a hobby, not a right. If you can't afford it then find something cheaper to do. Duh...gaming is a hobby. So you are saying that after an eight hour work day, it is NOT my right to do what I want and should choose another activity to do because I do not want to conform to the companies' standards? Well sir, you sound like a fatuous swine. Continue purchasing your $60 yearly installments of Call of Duty, you puppet. --- "He never saw Molly again." XBL GT: Hellcamino420
I also don't care about blocking used games. Do people really trade in and buy used games that much that they SAY they aren't going to buy the next gen consoles? I never trade my games in because you're losing money when you do, Do people not see that? You buy a game for $60 and trade it in and get $25 for it and that is when the game is relatively still new, You're losing $35. Just my point of view. Now the one point that can be made is for people like myself that have more then one console in their home, No argument here, It sucks but we should really get use to it. Something tells me that maybe not this set of consoles but most likely the next set of consoles will be purely digital. So, Get use to it guys. Also, To the people saying they're going to switch to PC gaming, You do realize that most PC games are bought or only available for digital download? Which means that you cannot trade them in. lol
Kane90987 posted... JTC87 posted...Alright, I didn't read every post because most of it is the same over and over again. I have some points to address. People that collect games for old systems, why? You don't collect boxes of checkers do you? The console had its time, and now its time is over. Move along. Since when does being 25 qualify someone as a kid? I know that you don't share my opinion but if anyone is acting like a child here, it is you.
It's not just about saving a small amount of money on a used game. Every game will be linked with my account. I won't be able to borrow games from my friends anymore. My friends won't be able to borrow games from me. If I want to buy an old game, chances of finding it new are pretty low. Look at a game like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It's a Wii game, and it's fetching a price of like $90 new. A one-time use activation code system is really just horrible. People like consoles for their simplicity. You take a game, you put it in, and you play it. I don't want to screw around trying to stay connected to my account using my horrible internet connection and be told I'm not allowed to play every time my internet goes out. I'll make the switch to PC gaming in a heartbeat if Sony and Microsoft go through with this.
JTC87 posted... metalclash posted...I hope this is a troll topic. If not, the people who say blocking used games is good are plain stupid. Your idea's are. I feel like you're most likely trolling, but if not... I personally don't play used games. I usually buy new, but blocking used games would make it impossible to share games with friends. Do you also dislike the idea of classic cars? Should all the people in classic cars "move on" to a brand new prius? --- people who snapchat are just flat out stupid.
