67%! 67% of one of the two major American political parties saying they believe gamers are a bigger threat to society than guns. Can you believe that? That's bat s*** insane, right? That's gotta be some kind of sick joke. What is going on in this country? I feel paranoid just walking down the street sometimes.

Yes.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of them in the deep south view technology as a form of witchcraft.

The title of this post is incorrect. According to the poll, 67% of Republicans think that violent video games are a bigger safety threat than guns. That really doesn't say much about how what they think of violent video games; in fact, it says more about how they view guns.

It was a phone poll and we have no idea what kind of people they called. Most likely white males in the south over 60 years of age. I don't know one reasonable adult that thinks this way in my own personal life.

It's important to note sampling bias. The majority (72%) of those polled were over 45. Also note that if the person identified as a Democrat, they were not even asked the question, which kind of unsettles me.

Edit: And yeah, it sound to me like this is more true than anything else:

Polls are so easily manipulated to say exactly what you want.

For example.... 100% of the people I ask think politicians are idiots. That number differs greatly when I switch the word "politicians" with "republicans" or "democrats".

It's all a shell game to keep you focused on something other than the fact that our "leaders" make a lot of money compared to the amount of work they actually do.
