What I don't get about Bayonetta 2 not being on the 360 or PS3..

Bayonetta 1 sold like 2 million on the 360 & PS3 (started off kinda poorly though). It's now known as an extremely good game and still praised as one of the best action-games ever.

It's Platinum's best selling game ever by far too. You should be glad Nintendo picked it up. If they didn't, the game wouldn't have existed. But you're acting like sour fanboys that want it dead instead.

They released a Fatal Frame 2 remake like 7 or so months ago on the Wii. Has the best graphics on the system. I'm currently enjoying it. Was never released in the US though. Only PAL regions and Japan.

Sega can't publish the game due to financial reasons.
Sony and MS said no.

Nintendo said they would.

This is what upsets me about Microsoft. Sony doesn't have the pockets that Microsoft has and it would be lovely every once in a while if Microsoft at least tried to secure an exclusive. Outside of their already established IP's, Microsoft hasn't been doing **** to get a solid exclusive in years. About the only thing they secure is timed exclusive DLC which they probably pay for with the money we pay for Xbox Live...

So Nintendo is doing it just for fanservice? Who cares if it won't make any profit (which it won't), right?

It won't sell on the Wii U.

Regardless of sales, the game should be excellent. People who loved Bayonetta should be looking forward to this. Aside from this, I'd say this is a good future investment. The more of these types of games appear on the console, the bigger the market for these games on the console will become.

A console doesn't sell itself. You need a variety of games to do this. And over the course of years the difference will really start showing. I suppose that's pretty much the reason for why the PSP started to sell so strong after a few years and why it's likely that the Vita will start to do the same.

..is if the first game didn't sell well enough on the 2 consoles that have MILLIONS more units in homes - why would Nintendo bother trying to secure this game?

Good question

I think it's just part of a broader effort to win back the audience they lost. You know, the "hardcore gamers" who isn't interested in novelty controllers and mini-game comps.

. . . And for me, it might work. I really, really want Bayonetta 2 and SMT vs. Fire Emblem. >_>

The first game did sell very well from what I remember, Sega just didn't want to put up the amount of money it'd take to make a worthy sequel. Nintendo was smart to snatch it up, now they have an exclusive game that appeals to the hardcore gamer.

sad thing is the game isn't going to sell well. Hardcore game or not, with the next gen hardware around the corner, people are going to forget about it and the Wii U :(
