you'd be surprised at what kind of info they already are stockpiling, nevermind what say they do. Chances are if they're asking for permission, then it means they're already doing it for some time. If they're eavesdropping on a cell tower by rifling through EVERY call made by anyone just to catch 1 person up to no good, they consider it ok to just "keep" those call records and respective browsing and GPS data even if it was totally arbitrary and useless to that one case, just to name an example of what they're like, and the best part is that they don't feel the need to get rid of it after the fact nor entitled to admit to when they do, why, to who, and how much so I wouldn't be surprised of they were hoarding data of chubby dorks playing Zumba on the Kinect
