Today's poll ~Contra~ and it's counterpart (Super C) on XBLA

#1knightimexPosted 2/9/2013 2:28:21 PM(edited)
The poll asked if you have ever completed contra with out the 30 men code.
I wondered to my self "I did didn't I?"

Before I made my vote I loaded the game up and gave it a go.
To my surprise I beat the game with my starting life.

Seriously happy about that.

I tried it with the arcade version of super C on Xbox live arcade and I found it to be much harder than expected.

Anyone else try to give it a go?
Old School Games FTW!

I remember playing contra co-op with my friends when I was a kid. I loved that game, but I don't think we ever beat it. We always got bored with it and did something else.

I did many times, both the nes versions and the arcade versions when I was growing up. Used to do it all the time both solo and on co-op playing with my older brother and dad. I didn't play the xbox live arcade version of contra much compared to back in the day, but I did however beat the living hell out of hard corps uprising, lol.

First time I played Contra was last year when it hit DotW.

I didn't get very far. I kept wishing it played a bit more like a 16 bit game...or a least a little less jerky and stiff. Something more like Sunset Riders.

Yes. You can also purchase it on disc as well. It's part of the Konami Arcade Classics Vol 2 IIRC. It's packaged with Rush N Attack and a track/field game.

Edit: Super C(ontra) was also part of Konami Classics Vol 1.
