If we ban used games, companies make more money and pass the savings on to us!

Just like you are crying about paying money for games?

We pay money for games either way, But waiting for the price to drop or buying used games is the companies fault, You know why?, They made a crappy product and are paying the price for it.

I can't people actually want this to happen and are defending greedy companies like ea etc.

Or they'll just find some OTHER reason they're not making enough money and boo hoo about that, too.

They won't make more money at all because sales will drop off the face of a cliff.

Don't be naive BlueStig. Digital downloads is the future & people will eventually adapt to the change, just like they did with CD's, Books & so on.

Perfect Light ... Pleaseeeeee let this go.
You have said so many times "this will NEVER happen" if you truly believe that, you have nothing to worry about ;-)

Sales will drop with digital downloads as well.

Without a way to get rid of a bad game by trading it in or giving it away, people will buy FEWER games.

Has this stopped steam, apple or kindles? No.. Sales have went up. So unfortunately you may be wrong.

So we might as well move on to pc gaming then?, Sorry digital distribution and the banning of used games will be the nail in the coffin for console gaming.

If you think the product is crappy why are you picking it up used? Just don't pay for it at all.

I can just see the outcome of all this....

Used games are banned, forcing everyone to buy games NEW.
Since all used games are banned, no-one is allowed to trade in old games...
Which causes more & more people to buy fewer & fewer games.
Publishers & Developers make even less money, so they make fewer games, and the ones they do make are of lesser quality (to save money).
Then, the market totally collapses.

Then, all the anti-used gamers like WinterNova then blames all the gamers, saying "its all their fault because they (gamers) are too greedy."

It's people like you Winter that are keeping our overall economies in the toilet with your stupid inept policies that are ass-backwards.
You want to force people to do things your way, or you punish them.
And yet you always blame someone else when your ideas don't work.

Heck, if banning USED games is such a good idea...why not ban ALL USED items...such as used cars, used books, dvd rentals, and so on.
Why that would probably spur the economy right (according to your logic)..?

You have absolutely no clue as to how economies work.
You consider yourselves so smart that you think you know everything, when in fact you know NOTHING !

Allowing people to buy what they want & how they want is what makes the economy correct itself.

Consider this...
A Developer makes a crappy game that is 4-hours long and releases for $60 bucks.
The consumer (whom you despise and don't trust) might buy the game and play it, and realize what an awful game it is...and then decides they are going to trade it in.
Now, multiply that times 1000's, as more people who buy the game realize what a horrid game it was decides to trade the game in.
Meanwhile, over at gamestop, the game is literally clogging up shelf space and can't be sold for even $15 bucks.
The Developer of the game complains that "its all the fault of the used game industry that we are losing money..." ...for which people like you say...."Yup, we need to ban all used games !"

On the flip-side, a Developer makes a really good game that can take as long as 20 hours to beat and has plenty of replay value, and sells the game for $60 bucks.
The consumer buys it and likes it so much that they tend to keep it. A few might not care for it or beat it once and trade it in, but that is often the exception.
Over at gamestop, since there are fewer people trading the game in, there are either no used copies (because the few they had sold) or the price is still very high ($55 bucks used) that new consumers just decide to buy the game NEW.
This results in more new copies sold, and the Developer makes more money.

The market corrects itself, if you let it.
Used games only hurt the Developers that make crappy or mediocre games, meanwhile the Devs that make good games are hardly affected.
People like you want to completely wreck the mechanisms for which the market can correct itself, which will ultimately lead to destroying it.

What it all boils down to, is that all the people who want used games banned simply don't trust the consumer to do the right thing (according to them), and would rather take away their options so as to force the consumer to do what these arrogant fools deem to be correct.

It is all arrogance & elitist snobbery.
They know what's right, and they say ban all used games, so as to force everyone else to buy games NEW.
Why..?
Because they said so.
They don't trust you to make the correct decision, so they want to take away the decision making process from you, thereby forcing you to do what they want, which is to not be able to buy or trade in any games used.

The arrogance of it all is sickening.
Who made these numbskulls leader ?
And they sure think that they are brighter & smarter than everyone else....why else would they want to force something rather than simply allowing you (the consumer) to make the best choice based upon your own specific needs & desires ?
They can't and won't, because they're too arrogant.

The real greed lies with the Developers who want to continue to make crap games and force everyone to have to buy it new.
How is banning used games going to solve anything ?
All you are doing is taking away choices from the consumer....and also taking away the means by which consumers can let Developers know that they are NOT going to support their crappy games.

Once you buy a game NEW, you CANNOT un-buy it.

So people will buy fewer games because they can't give away a game? Is this game going to contaminate other discs purchased so that the user will HAVE to give it away? What does giving away ANY item have to do with the purchase of a replacement?

If a game is so bad that someone wants to give it away, it's seen as a method of torture for the person receiving the game, and there's always some twisted appeal in torturing your friends, or better yet, relatives you don't like.

It still has no effect on purchasing different games.

Yes, it does, because after a person has experienced a game so bad that they want to torture someone else with it, they'll be far more reluctant to buy new games after that if they're stuck with the game for life. THAT is why sales will drop.

The ACT of GIVING AWAY A GAME has no impact on what games I buy. I've given a few of my games to my brother, but it hasn't made me want to go out and buy more.

Really? So gamers will be forced to buy bad games? They can't refuse to buy a game they're not interested in? How do used games show developers that they are not going to support their crappy games?
