LordAizenSamaPosted 2/10/2013 3:29:05 PM | Been reading here about the used game issue, and as much as the not being able to buy used games thing sucks, and another issue came up with console replacements
Anyway, the question was: Do you HAVE to make an account for your 360 and PS3? Is it mandatory as is, and would there be any problem if it was made mandatory to have an account on each console?
The point of me asking is that couldn't they just link games to an account, like Steam does, rather than the actual console? What if it wasn't so much as "game only works for one console" but "game only works for one account." So if you get another console, you can just log into the new account, and the game will work. Sony wants to push digital distribution anyway if I recall correctly. Digital should be cheaper than physical, so that would make up for the fact that you wont be able to buy the cheaper used games, perhaps? And, because it's digital an account would be required, so perhaps games are linked to an account like I suggested, not a console. --- The Heart. |
Carte360Posted 2/10/2013 3:56:05 PM | Wouldn't help too much, but it would be better than linking it to a console, unless everyone had internet and stuff, which surprisingly a decent amount of people don't.

Yeah, you can do that, but you still need one online or offline to save, I think. --- Why would Microsoft worry about exclusives when it has the awe-inspiring Kinect to sell consoles. - MrRGerk |

But a profile =/= Xbox Live silver or gold though...right? Because you can't create an Xbox Live account without the internet, and the Xbox is certainly not required to go online to be usable. --- "The problem with quotes on the internet is that you can never be sure if they're true" - Abraham Lincoln |
