I buy GoD all the time with points and never get charged tax. Maybe it depends on your state or country.

The tax was ONLY on the pay-with-points option.

It does happen, not often, but it does happen.

I got charged tax paying regularly.

You can pay with points, yes. Makes one wonder why you can't just pay for other stuff with cash tho. I hate spending $5 when I only need another dollar's worth of points. Makes sales almost worthless, because the only savings you get is that you can bank your points for another purchase later on.

Because it costs the company more in fees than they make on the purchase.

$5 is about the break even point for credit card transactions, this is why many businesses require a minimum purchase amount (usually $5) for a credit card transaction.

GoD allows direct credit card purchases because no GoD is under $5 (unless there is an extreme discount, like a few of the GoD games that were part of the 75% off sale).



Also, Stig, one occurrence, that may have simply been a pricing **** up for a sale (it has been known to happen on other occasions as well), is hardly a fair example.

I think he meant to say the new releases like those won't let you use points. Idk if that info is correct or not though.
