Reference Levels and HDMI Color Space Settings?

What are those?

Well at Gamestop you can get a rubber ducky, a water gun, or a pirate sleeve Wii bundle.

reference levels refer to the range of blacks you can see

standard refers to a more limited range from 16-235
expanded is the full range from 0-255

only use expanded if your tv is compatible

usually there's a setting in the picture options for hdmi black level

color space refers to whether games and movies output in rgb or YCbCr

games are output in rgb, movies are YCbCr

just put that option on auto or source

How do I know if my TV is compatible?

I have a Sony KDL-XBR8.

The other guy explained it perfectly. You should have options for HDMI range somewhere in the TV menus, probably one per HDMI input. I would expect it's compatible with the full range.

I have HDMI Color Space Option set on RGB (I only play video games), I have the Reference Level set on Standard.

Should I change anything?

Yeah don't you have an option for "Full" or something like that? Do that, and set the 360 to Expanded.

I do have an option like that on Playstation 3 which is set on Full.

As for Xbox 360, I already tried setting Expanded and tested Zone of th Enders HD Collection and the only difference is that it appeared to make the game darker (as if this game isnt already dark enough as it is).

Is that how it should be?

Did you set both TV *and* 360 to the expanded range?

No not on the TV, could it be possible that it is automatically set to expanded?

Well that's what you should do.
