How is Saints row games?

#1planetvash112Posted 2/26/2013 2:38:50 PM
I love open world games like GTA and RDR and Bethesda games, I never played any of the Saints row games I see them cheap too. Are they worth getting for someone who likes GTA style games?

definitely. I like 3 better than 2 but most people prefer 2 over 3
I have Saints Row 1 but I never played it yet lol.

I bought the SR 1&2 double pack.

And I wish I had just skipped SR1 all together.

Boring, boring, boring, and almost kept me from moving on to #2.

Read SR1's story on Wikipedia and buy #2. Leaps and bounds more entertaining.

Can't speak for #3 as I haven't played it. Most opinions seem to agree that it's less fun than #2.

This post is pretty accurate. Three has it's moments but two just felt more "fleshed out". One was a fine game for it's time but it has not aged well.

Everything's shiny, Cap'n. Not to fret.

I dont know if its less fun, but theres definatly less content like cloths, tattoos stuff like that.

SR1 is a blatant GTA clone with little of the humor that would define the second and third games. It's still playable, but only if you haven't played 2 or 3.

SR2 and 3 are brilliant. 2 slightly beats out 3 as there's just more to do, and more customization options. 3 is more polished, more outlandish, but also more repetitive.

Sr2 is awesome loads of fun
Sr1 is well above average
I never completed either sr 1 or 2 although I came close with sr2. But I don't finish a lot of open world games.

All that being said I didn't care for sr3 not sure why but I just couldn't get into it.

Playing through SR2 right now, and loving it. I'm having much more fun than I did with GTA4 and even RDR (and I loved RDR).

It was only $20 or so at GameStop, definitely pick it up.

They are all awesome. A lot of people will say 2 is better than three, but I think 3>2>1, although they are all good.

They're a lot of wacky mindless fun.

But thats really it, it doesn't do anything to push the boundries of gameplay, graphics, or storytelling. But that doesn't stop it from being a fun ride. Don't pick em up if you're expecting an awesome storyline. Pick them up if you want to go a little nuts in a sandbox world.
