Dead Space 4 canceled, series in trouble following poor sales of Dead Space 3

"In general we're thinking about how we make this a more broadly appealing franchise," Gibeau told CVG, "because ultimately you need to get to audience sizes of around five million to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space."

The game currently sits at no.8, placing behind last year's Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Far Cry 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

I think it's alright. Sometimes I think trilogies should end there. I love Dead Space 3, but I'd rather the franchise not get milked like other series.

I only saw the first movie. I never played the cell phone games. I don't think movies should be looked at as a bad thing, just an optional thing that's there.

Just three games is what I'm saying. There are some games that have been going for 6-10 years with more than 4 games, and at certain points it comes to the point where fans cry more than the devil. There is no residence without an evil perspective on how their game eventually sold out.

Despite people who've not played Dead Space 3, I think it felt like a true Dead Space game. Whether or not you think is the best is subjective, but it felt like it truly belonged.

I know some people will blame EA, but I think this is a good thing.

I mean would you rather say Dead Space ended on a good note, or a bad note? I would definitely say I would rather for it to end on a good note.

Also this gives them more time to work on new IPs.

I found that it felt very much like a Dead Space game, just not that good of a game though. Bear in mind, I don't hold the franchise in very high regards. Not after the first game anyway.
