Borderlands 2
Far Cry 3
Fallout 3

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past- took a good game, fleshed out more about the worlds and characters, added more exploration elements and enhanced the graphics. Although I agree with pretty much every game you guys are listing.

I think it is EASILY Street Fighter 2. All the other games mentioned here were sequels to games that were already good. Street Fighter 1 was atrocious.

A bit old school, but I'd say Age of Empires 2. Or Tales of The Abyss (if it came out after Legendia, I can't remember, but it's so much friggin' better).

Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 3 (because 2 was just awful EA garbage), Contra 2 (super contra, NES)
