Is a 42 inch too big for gaming!?

I want to upgrade to a plasma for gaming but they start out at 42 inches. I've been gaming on a 27/32 inch for 15ish years and like to play up close to the tv. Is 42 going to be too big?

My first HD tv was a 42 inch plasma. I fell in love with it. It's a great size as long as the room you're going to use it in isn't too small.

Hell freaking no...
I game on a 55 inch Samsung, and feel like upgrading to an 80 inch TV.

The recommended distance from a 42" is 5.5ft, a 32" is 4 feet.

32" is the perfect size to get maximum picture quality without sacrificing stretched resolution.

42 and 47 are nice, but you're sitting farther away to make up for it. 32" is perfect, imo.

If you want further help.
