FarCry 3 is fantastic. I would go with that and Tomb Raider.

As the only game that I have played on this list is Black Ops 2, and I hated it.....

I am unable to participate in this polling process.

This is the end of my pointless post.

Target is doing a Buy 2 get 1 free. I'd recommend Tomb Raider and Dead Space 3 (if you have a co op buddy, Far Cry 3 if not) and Black Ops 2 for a multiplayer alternative.

Tomb Raider is too short to justify spending $60, unless the multiplayer is somehow amazing.
Black Ops II (if you play multiplayer) or FarCry 3 would last longer and could probably be found a lot cheaper.

^ I would have to agree with this.
TR & DS3 are arguably the best games on that list.
Not only that, they also offer the best bang for your buck.

Crysis 3, Black Ops 2...are way too short. And unless you plan on playing a lot of multi-player, then you are going to be done with them fast.
Far Cry 3 is a good game, but I got extremely bored with it after a short while. I would only recommend this game for those gamers who like to do a lot of grinding....similar to games like Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout, etc.

But I acknowledge that I don't know your personal tastes, and am just basing my decision based on generalities....to which may not apply to you.
So take my comments with a grain of salt.

^ Tomb Raider lasted me a little over 12 hours....how is that "too short" ?
Especially considering Black Ops 2 can be beat in less than 6 hours.
Though BO2 does have good & somewhat varied On-line multi-player.

Far Cry 3 does last a very long time...but the majority of its length is repetitive grinding.

I was able to 100% it by renting it for two nights. It cost ~$55 less than buying it.
I love the game, I'm just suggesting that he buy something with more replayability and a cheaper price.

I suggested Black Ops II because I know the multiplayer will be strong for at least another year or so; Tomb Raider's online will probably fade out by the end of the month. That's why I said "unless the multiplayer is somehow amazing."
