1. My friends have xboxs
2. Cheaper

it is not cheaper. Games are more expensive on console. Compare brand new games on pc, they are 10$ cheaper, and all the steam sales you can get insane deals.

in the long run, having a console cost a lot more than you might thinl.

This shows how people just dont really foloow their financial situation in the long run and only care about the initial cost of things since pc cost more than consoles hardware wise.

Only reason I prefer it is being able to sit back in a chair and relax. PC always means sitting up right with a desk and all that. And that's not a "prefer over it" but more the thing I like better about it.

I only prefer consoles to pc gaming on action games, too much effort to hook up a controller to my pc.

1) Games works right out of the box/digital
2) Friends and family plays on the Xbox/PS3
3) Great exclusive games that PC will never get
4) Don't need to spend $2,000 usd on a gaming PC when my console can play the same games for less
5) Local Coop/Split screen that are missing on PC
6) Community are bigger in online multiplayer games compared to PC
7) Majority of online games don't have hackers/cheaters that will aim bot you or shooting you through walls/see walls that are on PC
8) Developers tends to support the console way more than they do on the PC
9) No need to upgrade hardware every 6 months to a year or have to do some tweaks to get games to work
10) PC gaming is a niche platform that are full of pirates and cheapskates who rather wait for Steam sales than support a good game on the day of it's release that developers work so hard and put so much time into it and doesn't get the respect they deserve

^the biggest amount of bullcrap I have read in a while.

Also, I said top 2 reasons.

You asked for peoples opinions, then you say their opinions are stupid........

It's bullcrap that he plays consoles because his friends and family play consoles?

Are you 10?

No, but he clearly doesn't understand how PC gaming works. You don't need to spend $2000 on a gaming rig since top of the line desktops can be built for around $1000. PC gaming also has a modding community which can take care of bugs in case the developer never releases updates. Upgrades don't need to happen that often unless you need to max every new game you buy, which isn't vital since you can turn down a couple settings and still have excellent graphics. Finally, everyone platform has pirates and people who wait for deals. Since PC ports can sometimes be garbage, why would someone pay full price for said ports? In addition, most games now aren't worth the full price so it makes sense to wait for a price drop or sale.

You have to admit that his opinions are incredibly misinformed

Honestly the last point he made is trash and the price people pay for a game is irrelevant (except pirating, don't do that lol). If Steam was only full of cheapskates then explain why Black Ops 2 and other new releases are consistently top sellers even at full price.

It's no worse than people who don't want to pay full price for console games. MANY games are not worth full retail price, let's be honest. Plus who the hell wouldn't prefer playing less? Whether or not you mind paying full price is irrelevant, but anyone with a brain would prefer paying less. Sales also get people to buy games they wouldn't otherwise buy just because it's on a good sale.

Boxed games. We have a bandwidth cap so I can't download everything I want to. Being able to buy a retail game and just play it right away is good.

But yeah.. That's it. Since I got a gaming PC, my consoles are pretty much collecting dust.
