I've put up with Microsoft's bull **** before, but this is a new low.

So I bought a month of gold when I was home for Christmas break, and today on Spring Break I sign into my account to find I still have Gold. So I go look at my transaction history and apparently they put me on the automatic renewal plan, automatically without even telling me. Unless it was hidden somewhere in that giant wall of text you agree to.

How hard would it be to just send an email every month informing you that they've taken your money? This is just sad.

Sad is some kid in Indonesia who dies in the street after not eating for a week and a half. Your situation is inconvenient. So, a) get some perspective, b) next time you make an account, use an email you actually check, and c) call Microsoft. If the charges were unwanted, you can have them refunded to your account.

Also, further advice: pay closer attention to your bank account, as you should probably be questioning where ten bucks was disappearing to once a month. If you didn't notice you were losing ten bucks a month, then you must not have needed it. If you don't check your transaction history more than once every four months, then really, I'm having a hard time finding any sympathy for you.

I feel almost no pity. Know why that kid is suffering and we're not? Because we as a country got our s*** together. It's up to them to get there lives up and running not us. I guarantee those kids harbor no hate towards us only envy that they could be in as much luxury as we are.

People starve to death in every country. You using it as an example of why people shouldn't complain while complaining that they are complaining... Well you obviously see the point.

It's the whole "First World Problems" comeback trolls use. Of course a person living in a first world country is going to have first world problems. You telling them that doesn't help their problems or those in second and third worlds.

Though a bit of advice First Second and Third world have nothing to do with how well off a country is.

Damn, you guys act like we're all accountants. Do you know how many transactions I make every month? It'd be hard for me to notice a single $9.99 payment that I wasn't looking for.

And I the only emails I get from MS are advertisements, and I get those every week or so for some reason. I have not received an email notifying me of a charge nor a subscription expiration notice. This is the first time I've ever bought a subscription from the dashboard, historically I picked up a year from the store.

Also, that guy is right. The suffering of the third world is irrelevant here I'm afraid. That'd be like saying we should accept every single trespass against us because somebody on the world is being cheated of their life.

Microsoft switched me over to monthly billing after 10 years as an annual subscriber.

Know how I knew?

They emailed me a bill. Perhaps if you didn't sign up with a fake email you would have been alerted properly.

Anyone else hear that zooming sound as the point went over your heads? The use of phrases like "this is sad" and "this is pathetic" are a pet peeve of mine. "This is sad," you say. Did you exhibit depression? Did you cry? Was it sad in the same way that Old Yeller was sad?

And yes, if 30 bucks over the course of ten months is enough to complain about, you'd be expected to pay attention to your money and notice that you were ten dollars short each month. I'm not saying you should be balancing your checkbook, but if ten bucks goes missing and you don't notice it, I'm not sure you're all that concerned about it.
