Short of absolutely massive RPGs like Skyrim with 100+ hour campaigns or FPS where you're gonna spend entire months playing online.. I can't honestly think of a game with, as good a game as it is, is worth $60 right now as opposed to $40 in 3 months.
It is the beginning of my end. I've raised you well, GameFAQs. Now go, make me proud. *sniff* - CjayC 7/19/2007

"Worth" is entirely subjective, there's no real need to argue it.

You're never going to get an accurate answer, because you are talking about something that is based on opinion, and not fact...as the answer is completely subjective (will vary from person to person).

It's a matter of perspective, opinion and finances I suppose. I would say that any full retail release I am really interested in playing is worth me paying $60 to pick up.

If it turns out I actually dislike it enough to get rid of it then I sell it. No big deal.

$60 is cheap, both historically compared to game prices in the past, and compared to other forms of entertainment.

Sometimes buying a game at full price is also a way to support a developer and show you care and love the game and appreciate the work they put into it.

Take Bioshock Infinite, in 3 months at $40 nothing will change from your experience at $60 right away, but I'm also voting with my money to say that what I am going to experience, the way that story is told, and the emphasis on the small details in characters and settings is something I want to see them continue and other games to embrace.

Few exceptions like sandbox games where you can just goof off. Also odd games like way of the samurai where you can beat the game in 3 hours but it has 24 enddings and deus ex where you can play tons of differnt ways.

But you petty much nailed not many worth 60 bucks.

What? How is $60 cheap compared to how games were once $40 and $50? And other forms of entertainment? Movies where I live are $11 for regular ad $13 for 3D, DVD's are like what, $30? YouTube is free, most fun mobile apps are under $10. The list goes on and on. There's probably a ton of things entertaining that cost less than $60.

Since you want to use every extreme example you can think of, why don't you include some on the other end of the spectrum? Going out to the bar, going to see a professional sporting event, traveling, etc.
