Why would they take out a signature feature in the Gears of War series?

I played the Gears Judgment demo and I noticed how there are no downs, you just get killed upon taking enough damage. "Down but not out" was one the features that gave Gears a more unique feeling than all the cover TPS out there. Did they remove anything else? I heard there is no Horde mode either but I mean gameplay wise

Also, Overrun mode is pretty disappointing, it was hyped as the new big match type but I'll stick to TDM as it seems way more focused than the new mode

But DBNO is in the demo. Allthrough you not guarenteed a DNBO all the time like in past gears.
