Since the Next Xbox won't have physical disc backwards compatibility, Microsoft will allow you to stream your Xbox 360 games to play on it. Oh... but you will need Gold for that too.

I don't follow. Nothing has been official about the Next Box.

All I'm saying is that if they want to replace the cable box, then they need to provide content and not just access to content. A Gold membership of $120 a year that included streaming ESPN and HBO Go without a cable requirement would be 1000% more value then the existing $60 model.

It was always useless because it's used to watch sports

Cable charges per month for the cable box. So you can effectively put the Xbox on another TV and get access without the extra monthly charge. That is for the HBOGo.

Wait, so now all cable companies are doing what Time Warner did when the app first came out? LOL

The April 2011 PSN Break-In is proof that fanboys will forgive anything.

Well the stream services for premium cable are actually pretty awesome with nice interface and anytime content variety, especially HBO go for PC and phones. I think the reason for these apps is the whole "use on big screen" or free extra cable box, but I find these apps terrible in comparison also the 360 app is only a fraction of content as the PC/Phone app like epix/xfinity/hbo go. Why are the apps on 360 not full like the other apps? That's another reason why it's even more useless on this console especially if you are paying live for it too.
