DMC 3 is one of the best games ever made.

The only thing I noticed that DMC1 had over DMC3 was that it was abundantly clear that some enemies could only be taken out with certain weapons.

A good game, but the combat in 3 was just much more fleshed out. You could actually hit people in the air WITHOUT smashing to the ground.

I loved part 1 over 10 years ago. I picked up the HD collection not to long ago and part 1 is so boring to me now. But yeah part 3 is still cool.

I played part 1, and it was boring to me when I bought it when it first came out. I remember my friends and I were teens, we would get messed up and watch the gameplay trailors because they were so cool.

The game felt tedious to me. It had an alright beginning, but it felt like some kind of hybrid of an action game and what I felt was a RE game.

Against popular opinion, I really enjoyed DmC. The moves are really easy to pull off and look great, although somehow that is a bad thing to many.

Well you know DMC was originally going to be RE4.

Actually no, I never really followed the RE series. I only played a little of part 1 and 4, and beat 6.

As for DMC 4 if it weren't for nero and all the backtracking it would have been such a better game.. At least its combat is slightly better than DMC 3 though.

Honestly I'm of the oposite opinion.
If they ditched Dante, fleshed out the levels more and gave us new locations to go through I would have liked it more.

Dante felt like a post-game unlock, he didn't fit with the game. The enemies would be stunned and sit there waiting for the devil arm attack that you don't have so you just mindlessly wail on them.

The game feels entirely gears around Nero and his abilities and once you get used to them it's really satisfying. Dante's sections just felt like what they were. Padding.

I didn't much like Nero as a character, but I found his combat to be just as interesting as Dante's.

For my money (since playing the HD collection)

Don't bother asking people on the internet about DmC though. Take a look at some videos and see if you can stomach the changes to the character design and setting.

If you can, then you will likely enjoy the game, if you can't then I don't recommend it.

Most of the people on these boards considered it a personal insult when they changed the character design, and will try to convince you that, given the chance, the game will rape and murder your entire family if you buy it.

I'm not trying to say that everyone who dislikes the game is wrong, but its going to be impossible to sort the legitimate opinions from the blinding fanboy rage that seethes everytime you mention the game, so formulate that opinion on your own and don't trus the opinions of people on the internet (including me).
