Say that the next Xbox was always online, but to compensate for this, they make Xbox Live free for everyone. Would it entice you to purchase the new console?

I wouldn't accept an "always-online" Xbox if it was given to me as a gift.

Since the other platforms offer free online anyway without this always online BS, no.

There was a poll on the front page, 5000+ votes the last I looked, the overwhelming majority already said they would REFUSE to support an always-online system.

EDIT: Now nearly 27,000 votes total, almost 13,000 of them refusing to buy any always-online system.

Yeah but only if it stayed like how it is now- it'd be a no if it turns out to be like psn. If its the same story for ps4 having to have always online with psn, I couldn't trust it- on wiki it does say that the ps4 will be able to do updates when the console "is sleeping" which seems like "always on" to me.

Live has been very reliable over the years on my console and I'm in London so my broadband service is always good :)
