The funniest thing about MS's response to Orth is...

#1GalvatronType_RPosted 4/6/2013 5:17:19 PM
... they had a perfect opportunity with their statement to disavow an always connected requirement and chose not to.

Think about that...

His views = Pro-always online

Microsoft's response: "and his personal views do not reflect the customer centric approach we take to our products"

Seems they put it down straight away. HOHOHO.

It's like when your friend spills a secret to your other friend about you, and you freak out and go "SSSHHHH!", and then keep pleasantly smiling like nothing happened.

This is gonna be so fun to watch if it's true.

I'm here for intelligent arguments or flaming. It's your job to decipher which.

That wasn't a denial. Don't be so naive or such a rube.

And go against their very strict-decades old "no comment" policy.

I don't see the fuss. Orth is a hero.

Microsofts best (console industry) moves have been 100% motivated by trolling.

Final Fantasy XIII anyone?

Hell Microsoft's silence is one of the most exquisite trolls in history.

I don't know why some are using that..."Microsoft has a policy that they don't comment on rumors..." argument.
It's just an excuse, and not a very good one.

It's no different than some criminal being taken to jail and being asked how they respond to the evidence that shows their guilt...and they plead the fifth, which is basically..."no comment".

It is not a wise policy or even a smart one.
It's basically akin to denial, which isn't fooling anyone.

But it must be nice living up Microsoft's back-side (rectum).

Children like this poster are the reason why Microsoft doesn't comment on rumors.

Why? Because it actually makes sense? Microsoft would be better off denying or confirming it now instead of slowly alienating us away from a possible trash future console.

We can't know that without all the info, which only a relatively few people at Microsoft may have. Two Billion dollar industries on the line (gaming and STB) and one can understand why you don't rush into things.

Microsoft would be better off denying or confirming it now instead of slowly alienating us away from a possible trash future console.

It's a win : win : win situation.

*The console is always online and it impedes it's domination an immaterial degree.

*The console is always online and it impedes it's domination to a significant degree. Microsoft releases a patch to correct....this is the company that got over the RroD for frigs sake.

*The console isn't always online, Microsoft laughs it's ass off in silence at the free hype which already overshadows the PS4

See the continual rise of Live Gold subs. 8 years after Sonys counter-efforts, zip. Sony actually started charging a fee.

Might as well stick to the plan, which for now is silence.
