Or you could, you know, play the Madden games you already have and not buy any more of them seeing as it's the same damn game year after year.
Franchise mode , unless you actually enjoy the terrible online play and cheeserball not football.
Uh, what? What about franchise mode?
You don't need to worry about roster updates if you just play franchise mode. The game play upgrades if you can call them that hardly make the game worth buying on a yearly basis IMO I'm still milking Madden 11 franchise and superstar modes But actually when I want to feel like i'm playing real football I still have to resort to APF2K8 , sad but true....but that is another story
EA and Ubisoft, because of the online passes, EA's Origin and Ubisoft's DRM.
Yes, I know you get an online pass when you buy new, but that does not mean my friends will also buy new, which means I can't play with them (were I to even buy their games). Thankfully, they make it pretty easy to avoid their games, because they've either put out mostly garbage this gen, or have run their previously-decent franchises into the dirt, like Splinter Cell, SimCity, Dragon Age, and Assassin's Creed.
I also refuse to buy Capcom games new, because of the Megaman Legends 3 cancellation, but I will buy them used.
EDIT: Also don't buy Activision games, but that's because they haven't made a good game in decades, and they are pretty "evil" when it comes to the "philosophy" of game design. There are other devs I could list that, in my opinion, have never actually made good games (GUST comes to mind) but I'm not actively boycotting them, I just ignore their releases.
I'm not actively boycotting them, but I haven't bought a game from EA or Activision in awhile because nothing they put out interests me. I have nothing against the companies, their games just don't excite me I guess.
