World at War. By far.

CoD3 was fun, but WaW was a better game by a long shot.

No idea on the CoD2 thing

3 was okay but it was definitely the worst in the series

PS3 didn't get COD 2 because PS3 launched a year later. I still remember stopping at the 360 kiosks and playing the COD 2 demo before the 360 launch. CoD3 introduced throwing the hand grenades back I thought that was kinda cool back then.

CoD3 has by far the worst campaign out of the series.

No. For Multiplayer? No. COD3 multiplayer is still one of my favorite online multiplayer games ever.

The COD 3 campaign was ok, it felt like more of the same of COD2, but not quite as fun. WaW had a better campaign, and you can play WaW with up to 3 other people co-op campaign.

COD 2 was fantastic in that it was grueling. No set pieces, just block by block, room by room warfare. No stupid quick times like present day CODs. Just two armies duking it out.

COD 3, while it had good characters, had strange pacing. It never felt quite right. It was the beginning of quicktime events, and had a bit too many cutscenes. The gap in difficulty between Normal and Hardened felt too wide.

Also, the checkpoint system is RAGE inducing. Incredibly unforgiving in later levels.

WaW was a huge improvement over COD3. Mainly due to the MW game engine. Great characters, and the set pieces were pretty cool. Needless to say, much more scripted than COD 2. That leads to a more cinematic experience. Not a bad thing, but obviously very different from 2.

If you can't play COD 2, then definitely go for Waw, great campaign.

(This whole post is in regard to the Single player. MP on COD 2 and 3 is basically dead.)

Every time I've tried COD3 again I've found rooms that were pretty full.
