How come Gears revolutionized the industry when it should've been Kill.Switch?

I only played the demo of Kill.Switch from PSM magazine & that was enough for me to not buy the game. Besides the cover system, it had nothing going for it.

Gears games, on the other hand were so good that I went to the midnight launch of the games.

Because Gears had much smoother gameplay mechanics.

There are certain titles that are building blocks, and that's exactly why they aren't revolutionary. Kill.switch was one of those.
