Defiance: Not on sale at all really + 6400 MSP for season pass and deluxe addition upgrade.

Bioshock infinite: i price matched it for 38 + 1800 msp for season pass.

This made the decision much easier.

Ever affected your decision over games?

All the time. I won't support a title if the DLC prices are nearing "gouging" territory.

See: Any 45 minute Bioware DLC (95% of them).

Why would you pay 1800 for Bioshock's Season Pass when it's only 1600?
No Thanks

Didn't get new vegas or skyrim and haven't played them because wanted to get ultimate editions.

Yes,

A friend wanted me to pick up Dead Space 3 so I could play with him, but because of the sheer amount of DLC for it, I simply declined.

If I see the filesizes for whatever content they are selling as 108kb (ie, already on disc, I just need to pay to unlock them) that immediately shies me away from a game.

I have no issue with buying a game with available DLC. Rock Band 3 is one of my most played games. Battlefield 3 as well. Even Skyrim with it's fairly expensive expansions didn't. It's just a case-by-case thing, I guess.

DLC milking is the reason I completely stopped buying at full msrp and never pay $60 for anything.
I just rent from Gamefly and if I play a game I like enough I buy from them for cheap.

Yes, but it's more about the actual value of the content versus the price.

If the content's pretty good (like Bethesda expansions usually are)
Sorry, this dispenser is entirely out of craps, and we are unable to fulfill your request for two craps. Try again later, thank you.

The constant DLC practice is what stopped me from buying new releases finally. I was the guy for years who had every new release pre-ordered; usually collector's editions at that. Once games turned into $60 for the game plus $20 of Day 1 DLC, with another month of held-back content priced at $10 a piece, I laughed and walked away.

I wait now until most games are $20-$30, and then only grab DLC when it goes on sale for half off. The cost of one game and content shouldn't exceed $60.
The Wing Commander series is my favorite of all time.
