Why hasn't there been a good TERMINATOR game? It has such potential

That's essentially what FC3: Blood Dragon is.

Now I could definitely use a GTA IV-esque Robocop game

Gentlemen, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.

Good question. Seems they've been movie based, which sucks. Dawn of Fate wasn't too bad but that was over a decade ago.

Same could be said about The Matrix, Star Trek, Starship Troopers, Tron, Alien etc etc.

A lot of great movies that has interesting storys and has potential to do great games. But after a few "bad" ones, people forget and move on.

I don't replay games.
All I ask is that a game be worth playing in the first place.

Talented people often want to work on their own ideas, so movie based games often get licensed to less talented companies.

Well, minus the 80s hair everything you mentioned has already been made into one amazing game called Binary Domain. If you haven't played it you should give it a go.

Heads up though, turn off the voice commands for a much better experience.

Do you know the "Sulu Dance?"

I actually enjoyed Atari's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines from the last gen. Sure it being practically Fugitive Hunter re-skinned and properly coded helped the R&D process, but it was an enjoyable game at the end of the day.

I also enjoy Virgin's Master System/Game Gear Terminator, despite not getting far into it.

Good games do exist, problem is that it gets wasted by most publishers.
