Xbox Controller Question**

#1kdo37Posted 5/23/2013 10:25:26 PM
Im looking into getting a fourth controller, but one thing is making me curious.

What's the difference between a "Xbox 360 wired controller" and a "Xbox Windows wired controlled"?

Im assuming the second only works on pc and not Xboxs?

but if that is the case, why would anyone buy the windows controller because the xbox wired works on both console and pc?

thanks

I think both are the same.

Really?

Amazon sells the windows xbox controller for $35(cnd)

and the xbox, xbox controller for $45(cnd)

so.... if that is the case... the windows one is the deal

<<can anyone verify this?>>

I think the one I bought was a windows controller. I'm not sure.

Wow

Looks like you're right and they are they exact same just with some different drivers.

However.... since the windows one is $10 cheaper.... I think I found my new controller!

Congrats :D

I wish there were more colors the wired controllers. I'd like a white one or a blue one :(

There is only 1 difference between the two.

The "For Windows" branded controller comes with an install disc for the drivers, the "Xbox 360" one doesn't.

Of course, with an active internet connection, it doesn't matter anyway, since you can easily download the drivers when you first connect the controller.

Super Creatures got there before I could. I was going to mention that it came with a CD with the drivers on...
If you have Windows 7, as he also said, plugging it in the first time will make it work almost instantly.

Hell, even on XP it is almost instant.

I kinda wanted to say this, but I remember having a few issues with the default drivers in XP.
There was a set of drivers that were kinda hacked to work better...bot I forget what they were called.
