Get both eventually but I'll have to give the slight nod to RDR, both are good games though. --- Big Apple, 3 A.M. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdi6ovua8j1r827vgo3_250.gif

No one can argue which is better past their opinion so here's how you gauge in the simplest possible terms:
If you like melee combat, Batman. If you like 3rd person shooting, rdr.
Though I suggest you play or at least watch arkham asylum before playing AC. They're more or less directly connected. --- "Nothin' to see here. Nope. Nobody special. Ignore the mick with the bomb." Currently Playing: Too damn many things at the same bloody time... (25+)

you need to play both. silly question. But get Batman now. RDR is a bit longer. --- http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lol597WsBP1qcef94.gif

Is RDRs combat better than Max Payne 3? Because I loved MP3 --- GT: ThatguyFromDOOM (no XBL gold until march 15th) 3rd Btn 2nd Marines - kilo co. 2009-2012

No, it's not as good. But MP3 is a game that only has shooting, so that's hardly surprising. There's a whole lot more stuff to do in RDR than just shoot people. --- Gamertag- MidgetRifleman

Either game is a win for you, I'd say just get both but if you have to pick one for right now it's a decision based on "do you like westerns more or do you like superheroes more at this moment ?".
I'd say another idea to keep in mind is which is cheaper as you can and should get the other later.
Be sure to play Batman:Arkham Asylum before Arkham City though as the AC game is a direct sequel to the first game. --- "Always two there are, a master and an apprentice"

Both are amazing games but i think i would give a slight edge to RDR.
RDR really blew my mind when it came out. It had fun shooting and gameplay but really nailed the western setting, much more than any game that had tried it. The graphics were great, it had a good story and overall was just really fun to play. Easily my GOTY of 2010.
Batman AC was really awesome as well though. It was a more open Arkham City, with really fun gameplay and Catwoman was fun to play as well. I pretty much liked it just as much as Asylum. A continuation of IMO the first great Batman game was a good thing.
