Was the XBox 360 able to match the PS3 in graphics?

Uncharted 2/3 are said to be the best games for the PS3 graphically, but Tomb Raider looks just as good if not better on both systems.

Even though it's not an exclusive, was the Xbox 360 able to match the PS3 overall as a graphical powerhouse? There are games on the Xbox 360 that are technically as good as even PS3 exclusives made by developers that fully make use of the PS3s power.

Each console has its merits but I wouldnt say which console has the better graphics were as it should be questioned which developer team creates the better visuals. UC2 is one of the best looking games Ive seen but so is Crysis 2, Gears of War 3, Tomb Raider etc.

In my opinon, but consoles are equal in overall power and this was proven through the games produced on both consoles. They both had advantages and disadvantages over each other hardware wise. This may have been the most evenly match console generation in terms of power(and sales)

It's not like how it was with the Xbox being a clear step ahead of the PS2 or the PS4 being a clear step ahead of the Xbox One

Even the GCN was a clear step ahead of the PS2, as proven by RE4.

Halo 4 and Gears of War 3/Judgment are some of the best looking games this gen. I'd say they can definitely compare with Uncharted.

Would bringing up how sexy and awesome looking the cars in Forza 4 are be relevant to this at all? >.>

It probably doesn't count at all, huh? Considering it's not on the same scale as Halo, Gears of War, The Last of Us or Uncharted.

But still, the cars look AMAAAAAZING.

Only exclusives can really show the power of a console. First party studios know better about how a system functions. As far as 3rd party titles the cell processor was hard to develop for for a while.
It's because different people work on different aspects for development, and you have smaller teams. It's all about education on the system.

You also have to put into account of how long in development a game has been. Something like GoW:Judgment was done probably in 18 months while TLOU was a lot longer (not sure of time frame)

Problem MS had this gen was putting out a lot more sequels, faster. Sony has enough FP studios to have others work on a project longer. Hopefully MS will start to do the same.

All in all graphics don't mean **** to me lol.

I'm pretty sure they're equal hardware wise, but the PS3 uses blurays, which allows for better textures and stuff. For example Halo 4 looks really good modelwise, but has fugly textures because the game was limited to 8 GB DVDs.
So in practice PS3 can have better graphics.
