You dun goofed! Why???

What are we supposed to do with gaming headphones? This is a very disappointing cut that they made.

Old news, and microsoft = idiots.

This is why those wanting to "upgrade" to an E have been thoroughly warned against it because it's missing the toslink port, it's missing a USB port, and it costs the same.

In all reality it's a downgrade.

Makes me wonder why, tbh. Is Toslink going obsolete or something? A see a number of devices not supporting it.

stupid.

you'll need to buy something like this..

Edit: ahh I see.

you'll just have to buy the dongle for it.

Nope, the new E doesn't have that input anymore either.

And I don't think that first thing you posted will take the HDMI audio and send it out via toslink. I've never seen a device do that, it usually only sends the 2 channel stereo. Whether it's a TV, switch, or receiver.

RIght, like the Roku 3.

I understand for stuff like that, but I think toslink is far from obsolete. I wish there was some other solution, because toslink is limited on how much bandwidth it can use. Or rather, the standard is limited, the technology itself would be more than adequate. So if there was some other solution that supported higher bandwidths, that would be great.
