1600 Points: State of Decay or Dark Souls

Dark Souls was awesome, spent probably 200+ hours playing that game

state of decay I played for a few days and then just left those clowns to rot. No character development at all in that game so who cares what happens to anyone. Still it was fun for a bit.

fyi there is technically no trial & error in Dark Souls.

The deaths you died could have probably been easily avoided if you knew more about the game mechanics or were more observant.

No trial and error in a game that informs you very little about itself and has combat based almost entirely on learning patterns?

Ok.

Use your shield.
Learn.
And attack.

3 simple steps.

I can see it only being a problem for people who
1. Don't have much time
2. Think this is an "act first think later" sort of thing.
3. Lack patients.( too rushy)
4. Not their type of game.

Never once considered the game hard. It felt "normal".

Learn.

.

Learn through what process? Trial and error.

I didn't find the game hard, either, but getting hit was an error. You don't have to die for the game to be trial and error.

I would of been sold on SoD but the lack of a coop feature is a bit off-putting. When it becomes a deal of the week I'll be sure to get it. Dark Souls it is!

What if it is part of different sales but never gets offered as part of the DotW?

i got both of these titles around the same time but Ive been playing state of decay a lot more. Thought Dark Souls would have a lot more to explore but so far it seems pretty linear
