well I maybe not getting true gigabit of speed .but it is light years ahead of that old belken i had.so sorry if I was happy about the speed .but not internet speed.I am also looking into if possible a gigabit modem(if they really make one and I see the worth in buying it).but right now am happy with the router speed

What is your current speed?
Also, if you're connected wirelessly, you're not using any of that gigabit connection, since it'll be a gigabit ethernet port, not wireless.

Go to speedtest.net and post the results, I am actually curious.
here is wireless speed http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2814342439

Pretty good speed.
Honestly, updating your modem won't make any difference unless you upgrade your service. Do you know what speed your ISP is meant to be giving you? I mean, if you're on a 35-40Mb/s plan you're doing fine. If you're on a 50 then...well it's alright. Anything more than 50 and I would suggest having it looked at.

I've actually seen worse from other posters. I think the lowest I've seen is 0.3 down.

I live in a country where 5mbp download speed is considered Super Fast. And i can only get that speed at night time (from 1:00 am to 7:00 am).

Now that I saw those posts above, it brought me to shame.

Switch from preferred to blast doesn't make much of a difference as most of live seems to cap out at around 10mb/s. The speed difference will mostly be noticeable with torrents and HD streaming like netflix. That said you can now have multiple 360's playing online at once with no issues, which you probably could not do before.
