Hitman: Absolution or Tomb Raider

#1codyallen25Posted 7/8/2013 9:46:58 PM
Leaning on Hitman because I loved Blood Money and it's ten bucks cheaper, but never played a tomb raider game but also heard its really good.

My friend loved Tomb Raider but said it wasn't really a game she'd go back and play after once or twice. I played Hitman Blood Money a ton but also heard this new one was a letdown.

What's the better option here?

Hitman has higher replayability, and it's a steal for only $10

Tomb Raider is a lot more story driven.

Hitman has replay value due to contracts and challenges throughout the levels. The story to this one isn't all that bad either. So what do you want .. a great game with story, or a good game with great replay value?

Haven't played either but I hear they both can be completed in one day so I would suggest going for the one that's cheaper. Edit: I also hear they're both superior on PS3 so I would wait for a deal for that version instead.

Think I'd enjoy Tomb Raider more, but at a cheaper price and more re-playability and knowing I'll like it anyway, Hitman's the safer bet thanks.

TR. Hitman has some bad issues with its core design and if you expect a Blood Money type of expereince be prepared for some SERIOUS disappointment.

No.
Tomb Raider's frame rate is much more stable on 360.
I haven't played either version of HA so I cannot comment.

You're welcome.

Uhh sorry bro, but you're wrong.

PS3 holds the advantage with regards to image quality and the general refinement of the overall presentation. This is a game where much of the experience is built around the spectacle and in that respect, PS3 offers an advantage of its 360 sibling. Aside from various instances where performance is visibly lower, the gameplay is otherwise just as enjoyable on Sony's system, and the sharper visuals better suit the overall feel of the game, highlighting the richness of the environments without as many unwanted side-effects. In that respect the PS3 version gets our recommendation as the preferred choice of the two console releases.

PS3 is also more pleasing on the eye, better suiting the game's gritty aesthetic. Most importantly though, both versions play just as well as each other, so we can easily recommend the game to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners alike. However, on a purely visual level, we'd be inclined to give the PS3 game the nod here if you have the choice.
