My game disc cannot be read anyway to install it to my hard drive?

If it won't read at all, it won't ever be able to get to the install screen.

Get it resurfaced, or buy a new copy.

You could always do the jerk ass move ( which ill admit I've done it myself ) go to GameStop buy a used copy and either A install it and take it back or B the real jerk ass. Move buy it used and return the defective copy and keep the newer one

It downloads up to 40-44% and then asks me to clean the disc, etc.

Or if I try to play it gets to the tutorial and freezes and I get the message telling me to clean the disc right before teaching me how to run. The game is Assassins Creed BTW.

Go to gamestop or some video store and ask if they offer disk resurfacing. If they do, it's only a few dollers.

Go to Gamestop. Buy a used copy, return your defective copy.

It's a semi-d*** move but the worst thing to come of it is the next person to get the game will just have to return it and get another copy

Gamestop will either eventually fix it in their store or send it in to get fixed (or trash it)
