Can I change an email adress associated with my primary xbox live gamertag?

#1B1g_ClownPosted 7/19/2013 11:17:25 AM
Even if that email address I want linked with my main xbox live gamertag is already linked to a separate throw away xbox live gamertag I created long time ago?

I've lost access to my primary xbox live gamertag email address(I know the email address, but can't even recover the password since the email address seems to no longer exist...).

You would have to first remove it from the other account.

Ok I found it. Now the problem is I can't take off the email address from my main gt because I lost access to the email login info. I can't even recover a password because the email account I used originally was a throw away so I used fake birthday. Probably so I can get around and use free trials when I opened it lol.

Am I sol?

And apparently my primary email address linked to my throw away GT has parental settings on it so I can't unlink the two. Even though I'm 23. Awesome.

I would simply create a new GT and email address but I put enough $$$ into my main GT that I don't want to rebuy stuff.

The problem with threads like these is that while your situation may be legitimate the "tactics" used could also be used to hijack an account.

This, AND you'll have to wait 30 days to use said email.

This.

It sucks but I already know my chances are slim. My best bet is to contact yahoo and get my email back and then wait the month or two to get my gts associated with their correct emails.

I got off the phone with support and from what I could tell they were able to assist me, but after 30 mins in, my phone dropped the call(THANKS AT&T). We were in the process of creating a 3rd email address to use as a temp to do switches with. I'll call again tomorrow. Too depressed right now lols.

Yes. It's a tiny bit complicated, but if you pay attention you can do it. First of all you need to call 18004myxbox and explain the situation. They will help you with the password situation since your e-maill address doesn't work anymore. Once they send you the password to an e-mail that does work, you need to sign into the account. This wont do anything yet.

Now you need to create a whole new msn account in order to tie your throw away gamertag with that. Once you log into the throw away account, select that you want to change the e-mail associated with the account to the new account that you created.
