All depends on the maturity of the child, but as a general rule I'd say 10 w/o a mic, 14 w/ a mic.

This is indeed an option. I was friends with a guy whose son could only hear or be heard by people on his friends list and the dad was in control of that.

7-11 for non violence game with mic...and 12 and up for COd and so on....with mic.....teach them how to Mute ...they can shut up the a** hold online themselves much easy.
